South Australian business leaders need to become fierce advocates for public transport if they want their calls for speedier population growth to be taken seriously.
New Park’n’Rides and an extension of passenger rail services are on the table with Infrastructure SA investigating the viability of public transport solutions for the politically-volatile Adelaide Hills region – with its recommendations expected to inform the Government’s re-election pitch.
More than 1000 Adelaide buses, trains and trams have been fitted with QR codes, but the Transport Department says passengers won’t be stopped from boarding if they can’t check-in.
Adelaide public bus drivers have been told it’s not their job to monitor QR code compliance aboard their vehicles, as the Transport Department works on rolling out the system across more than 1000 buses, as well as all trains and trams, as part of the state’s emergency management directions.
