Next year will be the 100th birthday of radio in Australia. And like so many milestones for the medium, Adelaide will have much to celebrate, because it was here that so much of the history of what we once called the wireless was shaped.

In fact, some of the biggest developments in radio were pioneered here – ranging from news, sport and talkback to the familiar FM formats that are ubiquitous across the country.

Joining us on this tour of Adelaide’s radio history – which includes some of the most stunning live radio reporting you will ever hear – is veteran journalist and radio announcer Kevin Naughton.

Notes on Adelaide is a weekly current affairs podcast driven by the independent journalism of InDaily, CityMag and SALIFE, and produced by Solstice Podcasting.

New episodes are uploaded weekly. You can find the podcast on InDaily or on your favourite podcast app including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
