Commenting on the story: Labor bins Riverbank Arena as first order of cabinet business

The question that seems to be missing from discussions on moving the Vic Park testing site when the V8 race works commence is why there will continue to be a need for mass testing?

The world has moved on given high vaccination uptake and broad infection. Would it not be better for the apparent depleted health system to welcome back the testing resources such as nursing, pathology and administration in to normal clinical services? – Luke Harrington

Commenting on the story: Richardson: The loss that spawned a victory and the win that doomed a party

The real problem for the Liberals is that they do not appear to have a coherent ideology.

Terms like wets and dries or moderates and conservatives have little meaning if those belonging to these factions cannot articulate a clear vision of what a Liberal government should look like. However, that has become equally true for Labor.

Party politics is largely concerned with mounting marketing campaigns rather than any attempt to sell a particular political vision. In that regard voting for either party is a bit like supporting either the Crows or the Power – it makes little difference who wins in the end.

Given the real challenges that humanity faces it is important that political leaders are able to articulate a clear vision for the future. Furthermore, that every election produces a close result thus ensuring that regardless who is in government political debate becomes a real contest of ideas. – John Tons

Commenting on the podcast: Notes on Adelaide: What the hell just happened?

As far as I am concerned I feel such disappointment that I am avoiding TV news and reading The Advertiser. Luckily our Liberal candidate kept his seat. Mr Marshall did a great job when Hills fires happened and in keeping us safe from Covid. – Sue Percival
