Raclette Igloo Experience invites an indulgence in unique French dining
Two tonnes of melted French cheese is the antidote Adelaideans need for the oncoming winter blues.
Adelaideans, known for their love for exceptional food and wine, can soon embark on a journey through the snowy Alps without leaving Festival Plaza.
Following wildly successful sell-out events across major Australian cities, the Raclette Igloo Experience is making its delicious debut in Adelaide, offering an unforgettable culinary adventure for cheese aficionados and food enthusiasts alike.
The immersive event promises to transport guests to the snow-capped peaks of the French Alps, one delicious bite at a time.
Transforming Festival Plaza into a winter wonderland, it invites guests to step into private igloos named after renowned French ski resorts, setting the stage for an exclusive and intimate dining affair.
Upon arrival, they are greeted by the gentle fall of snowflakes, the spicy aroma of mulled wine and the enchanting glow of fairy lights weaving through pine trees.
Vincent Hernandez, the man behind the Raclette Igloo Experience, says “raclette isn’t just a meal – it’s a French tradition of sharing, laughter and indulgence”.
“Some of my best memories are gathering around the raclette grill with my friends and family, savouring the delicious flavours and enjoying each other’s company,” he said.
“At the Igloo Raclette experience, we bring that same warmth and joy to Adelaide, allowing people to create unforgettable memories together – while indulging in lots of cheese.”
Drawing inspiration from his own cherished memories of family gatherings around the raclette grill, Hernandez aims to recreate that same warmth and conviviality, inviting guests to create lasting memories.
Guided by French-speaking staff, guests are ushered into a world of indulgence, where raclette cheese sourced directly from the French Alpine regions takes centre stage in a celebration of tradition, camaraderie and culinary delight.
With up to two kilograms of this beloved cheese, complemented by an array of cured meats, boiled potatoes, pickled onions and cornichons, guests are treated to an authentic taste of French gastronomy.
To complete the feast, each attendee is presented with a glass of mulled wine, perfectly paired to enhance the flavours of the raclette dish.
Then as the evening draws to a close, guests can gather around a crackling fire pit to roast giant marshmallows, in a fitting finale to an evening filled with gastronomic delights and Alpine charm.
