It is likely to be the hottest ticket in town when consummate entertainer and all-round nice guy David Campbell performs at next year’s ANZ Community Ball on March 15 at Adelaide Oval.

Campbell has won multiple theatre and ARIA awards, is a past Artistic Director of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and multi-platinum recording artist, and co-hosts Today Extra on the Nine Network.

Chairperson of the ANZ Community Ball’s organising committee Adele Fiene said the team were excited to have Campbell on board.

“Not only is he highly entertaining and will have everyone up dancing, he is also from South Australia and keeps with our goal to showcase all the great things from SA,” Fiene said.

This year’s host charity for the event is the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation (WCH Foundation), with Guide Dogs SA, Lifelife SA, Childhood Cancer Association of SA and Cure4CF also benefitting from the fundraiser.

“ANZ’s purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive and we really want to work with charities that also share this purpose,” Fiene said.

“All charities do great work and should be supported, however we are keen to support South Australian based charities so we can help our local communities.

“We also want to support charities that are staff and sponsors align to, as well as pick charities that spread across multiple causes so we can have the greatest impact.”

WCH Foundation CEO Jane Scotcher said the organisation was “absolutely thrilled” to be the host charity.

“The funds raised through this event will help us to shape the future of care for women, children and families in South Australia,” Scotcher said.

“We rely upon the generosity of the community to bring together rigorous research and genuine care and support, to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of patients and families.

WCH Foundation will use the funds to support the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment, deliver a Beach House Program for families with sick children, provide immediate emergency support to families in need, reduce distress and anxiety of patients through its extensive Arts in Health Program, and invest in vital medical research.

“On behalf of the many women, children and families we support across South Australia and beyond, thank you for helping us to give our all where it matters most,” Scotcher said.

“We will see you on 15 March at the ANZ Community Ball!”

The ANZ Community Ball is an evening celebrating South Australian communities, with the event designed to bring them together to raise funds and also showcase the best produce and entertainment that the state has to offer.

The four previous balls have raised a total of $1.244 million and the aim is for this fifth ball to take the tally to over $1.5 million.

Local businesses have generously donated items for the night’s live auction, silent auction and wine wall, and there will also be a gin cocktail bar courtesy of Settlers Gin. Bids can be placed for the silent auction on the night.

The major raffle prize is a car generously provided by Peter Kittle Toyota.

Organising committee chairperson Fiene said ANZ was motivated to give back to the state by holding the annual event.

“The ANZ Community Ball is a way that we can combine resources across the bank and South Australian community to really amplify our capacity to support South Australian charities that both our staff and customers support.”

Tables of 10 and single tickets for the 2024 ANZ Community Ball can be purchased online.
