Together with customers and community partners, ANZ raised $330,000 at this year’s ANZ Community Ball.

The funds will benefit 12 South Australian charities, including the host charity, Royal Flying Doctor Service Central Operations.

Tony Vaughan, Chief Executive Royal Flying Doctor Service Central Operations thanked the sponsors on the evening for their support.

“We airlift 15 South Australians every day and this money goes directly into the planes and the essential medical equipment we need to do this work,” Vaughan said.

The other charities that will benefit from the night include Operation Flinders Foundation, Zahra Foundation Australia, Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation, Zoos South Australia, Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation and other minor charities. The funds will support them to carry on their work in the community.

The night showcased the best of South Australia with local produce and wine, and an auction of items donated by local businesses.

Guests were entertained by local artists The Cast and iconic Australian singer-songwriter Kate Ceberano.

For Adele Fiene, State General Manager of Business Banking SA/NT, it was her first time hosting the event.

“It was heartening to see likeminded businesses rally together to support the community,” said Fiene.

“The ball is more than just a charity event, it’s ‘uniquely South Australian’. We showcased local produce and wine and had great support from over 100 South Australian businesses.”

“The event truly brings all the great elements of South Australia together and is strongly aligned to ANZ’s values and purpose of shaping a world where people and communities thrive.”

This result brings the overall combined fundraising efforts through the ANZ Charity Ball to more than $1.2 million from the past four events.
