The first incident occurred around 3pm yesterday at Parafield Airport involving a twin-engine Piper aircraft.

Police say the front wheel of the light plane collapsed upon landing, with the pilot managing to direct the plane onto the nearby grass.

Emergency services arrived at the scene but the two men on board walked away uninjured.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau will investigate the incident after towing away the plane for examination.

A separate incident occurred around 90 minutes later at Aldinga Airfield.

Police say a Harmony light sport aircraft landed safely but then overran the runway after a strong gust of wind.

A student pilot and instructor walked away from the plane “shaken… but otherwise uninjured”, police said, with Recreation Aviation Australia to be notified of the incident.
