Detective Superintendent Des Bray says police have identified where the fire started but have not be able to determine the ignition source.

There is nothing obviously suspicious and no evidence that the property owner was in any way negligent, he says.

The Pinery fire claimed two lives, destroyed close to 500 buildings and burnt through more than 82,000 hectares of mostly cropping land.

Police released vision of investigators examining the area where the fire is believed to have started.
