Chief Executive Officer for AIB

The Australian Institute of Business (AIB) has appointed Warren Hebard as Chief Executive Officer.

Hebard joins the institute from the online comparison service iSelect where he was Chief Executive Officer.

He is the former Chief Marketing Officer of gambling company William Hill and served as Account Executive, Manager and Director for the advertising agency Fenton Stephens.

He is a current Nominated Director of CIMET – an internet marketing service based in Sydney.

Hebard takes the reins from Jo Thomas who was Chief Executive Officer for the past two years.

Thomas worked at AIB for five years and is leaving to pursue a new business venture.

Taking a seat with Country Arts SA

Country Arts SA has appointed two First Nations Board Members.

Shouwn Oosting is a Waanyi Garrwa descendant with more than 20 years of experience working in federal and state public sectors in Aboriginal affairs.

He is the Founder and Principal Consultant of KSJ Consulting Service where he specialises in Aboriginal engagement consultancy services.

Oosting currently serves as a Member of the Board of the South Australian Film Corporation.

Susan Betts is a Wirangu, Kokatha and Mirning woman who works as a cultural artist, author and consultant.

She was formerly a Contemporary Artist and Designer at the Aboriginal design company Balarinji.

They join the Board of Country Arts SA alongside Chair Michael Lennon and fellow Board Members Victoria MacKirdyChristie AnthoneyStephanie TooleElla Winnall and Ian McKay.

Two new appointments for Wallmans Lawyers

The law firm Wallmans Lawyers has recruited a new Partner and Associate.

Lan Lam has been appointed as a Partner of the King William Street-based firm.

Lam joins Wallmans Lawyers from Finlaysons Lawyers where she was a Partner.

She is a Member of the Law Society of South Australia and the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ).

Lam serves as a Regional Council Member of South Australia and the Northern Territory for the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA).

Olivia Brownsey joins the firm as an Associate of the Business and Commercial Team.

She is a former Legal Officer of Safe & Well Kids for the Legal Services Commission of South Australia.

From 2015 to 2019, Brownsey was a Legal Cadet and then Legal Officer of the South Australian Native Title Services.

She practised as a Law Clerk for Finlaysons Lawyers and for the Legal Services Commission of South Australia.

Two promotions and an appointment

Credit Union SA has appointed former Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Regional Manager Kym Downie as Senior Manager of Lending and promoted two employees to management roles.

Downie worked at Commonwealth Bank for over a decade, holding several leadership roles including Relationship Executive Healthcare and Executive Manager of Private Bank.

She serves as President of the Largs Bay Sailing Club.

Deb Milde has been promoted from Sales and Capability Analyst to Lending Team Manager.

Milde joined Credit Union SA in January 2023 after more than 40 years at Bank SA in management roles in residential lending and customer service.

Joann Skene, who joined Credit Union SA as Community Banking Manager in 2021, has been promoted to Senior Manager of Brand and Business Development.

Skene joined the bank from Peregrine Corporation where she was Head of Community Partnerships and Public Relations.

Prior to her role at Peregrine, Skene was the Senior Manager of Fundraising Marketing at AnglicareSA and spent 14 years with former marketing powerhouse Salmat.
