In a statement, the board of directors of Eagle Boys Dial-a-Pizza Pty Ltd confirmed that administrators SV Partners has assumed control of the head franchisor’s day-to-day operations.

It added: “This does not extend to franchisees; all Eagle Boys stores remain under the control of individual franchisees and will continue to operate normally.”

Eagle Boys has more than 120 franchisees across Australia, including seven in South Australia, according to its website.

The statement said the administrators were in the process of identifying restructuring measures, with the national franchise remaining on the market.

“For Eagle Boys customers, franchisees, employees and suppliers it’s ‘business as usual’ while the administrators’ review is underway.”

According to SmartCompany.com.au, the chain once had as many as 340 stores, but now has just 127 outlets.

It said a number of former Eagle Boys franchisees had shared stories of financial hardship and expensive legal battles with the chain.

The chain was founded in New South Wales in 1987 by entrepreneur Tom Potter and bought by NBC Capital in 2007.
