Tree down on O-Bahn tracks leaves commuters stuck

Passengers have been left stuck for nearly two hours on the O-Bahn this morning after a tree fell across both tracks, delaying peak morning services.

A chainsaw crew has since removed the large tree from the tracks, and buses have resumed travelling along the O-Bahn.

One passenger stuck on the morning O-Bahn heading north told InDaily that buses in both directions were stopped after a tree fell onto the tracks today.

An Adelaide Metro spokesperson told InDaily it would take until about 10am for a crew to remove the large tree from the tracks. Passengers were instructed to remain on board.

Five buses were stranded on the O-Bahn tracks as a result.

Adelaide Metro closed the O-Bahn between Klemzig Interchange and the city in both directions due to the fallen tree.

Buses diverted via the road network between Klemzig and the City, and Adelaide Metro asked passengers to “allow extra time when travelling”.
