Attempted murder charge after Royal Park shooting

Police have charged a Croydon Park man with attempted murder after a shooting at Royal Park last night.

Just before 7.30pm last night, emergency services were called to an address on Brandwood Street, Royal Park after a man was shot.

A 47-year-old Royal Park man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

STAR Group officers attended a Croydon Park home just before midnight and arrested a 44-year-old man without incident.

He was charged with attempted murder, failing to answer questions under the Firearms Act and carrying an offensive weapon.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing and police do not believe it was a random attack.

Police are also investigating a stabbing at Mount Barker overnight.

Patrols and paramedics arrived at Laver Street about 1am this morning to find a 40-year-old man with a stab wound to the groin.

He was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition with injuries considered serious but not life threatening.

Police do not believe it was a random incident.
