Pedestrian critical after hit-and-run at Holden Hill

A pedestrian is fighting for life after a hit-and-run at Holden Hill this morning.

Police and SA ambulance responded to reports of a crash between a car and a pedestrian on Sudholz Road just before 4.15am.

The driver of the car did not stop at the scene. 

The pedestrian was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Major Crash Officers are attending the scene.

Two of the three lanes of Sudholz Road are closed with motorists advised to avoid the intersection where possible.

Meanwhile, a man is battling life-threatening injuries after a serious crash at Middleton yesterday.

A car left the road and collided with a tree near the intersection of Michelmore Road and Airport Road just before 3.30pm.

Emergency services rushed to the scene with a 40-year-old Fleurieu man later airlifted to the Flinders Medical Centre.

A 7-year-old boy in the vehicle escaped injury.

And a man has been arrested after a serious assault in Hindmarsh Square.

Police and paramedics were called just after 7.30pm last night with reports a man had been stabbed.

They found a 39-year-old Adelaide man with an injury to his abdomen.

He was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A 56-year-old Adelaide man was located nearby and charged with aggravated assault cause harm.
