The most recent, a 48-year-old Unley man, died after a fatal crash at Ashbourne last night.

Emergency services were called to Ashbourne Road after a car left the road and crashed into a tree about 6.40pm.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and died at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours between Wattle Flat Road and Cox Road while Major Crash Officers examined the scene but it has since reopened to traffic.

And an 86-year-old Para Hills woman has died after a crash at Manningham last month.

Her Nissan sedan collided with a Ford sedan at the intersection of Hampstead Road and Taunton Road on November 29.

She was taken to the RAH with injuries, however her condition deteriorated and she died in hospital on Tuesday.

The driver of the Ford, a 20-year-old Salisbury Heights man, was not seriously injured.

South Australia’s road toll was 93 at the same time last year.
