Daniels has been Chief Executive of Adelaide Oval’s Stadium Management Authority for the past decade.

He replaces long time servant Bill Spurr who died in July.

Adelaide Venue Management oversees the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, the Adelaide Convention Centre and Coopers Stadium at Hindmarsh.

Daniels is currently the Chair for the South Australian Motorsport Board, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra as well as Deputy President for Novita Services Inc.

He served as Deputy Executive Director for the Australian Formula One Grand Prix, General Manager for Australian Major Events Commercial Manager for South Australian Tourism Commission and was CEO of the Motor Accident Commission SA (2008-2012).

“I am very excited by this opportunity, and I hope that my experience with major events and venues will hold me in good stead for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for AVMC and to ensure that we continue to deliver for South Australia,” Daniels said.

I was fortunate enough to count Bill Spurr as a mentor and friend, and it will be a privilege to continue to contribute to an industry that he loved so much.”

Both the Adelaide Convention Centre and Adelaide Entertainment Centre are set for record levels of business in 2022-23 and are expecting continued growth after the challenging years through the pandemic.

It’s an ideal time for someone of Andrew’s exceptional calibre and venue management experience to be joining Adelaide Venue Management to drive further social and economic growth for the state from these important community assets,” said Minister for Tourism Zoe Bettison.

I welcome Mr Daniels’ appointment and I am delighted to have him on board.”
