Now in its fifth year, Ag Town highlights the significant contribution the agricultural sector and regional communities make to South Australia’s economy, and our world-class and innovative agricultural practices.

With nominations now closed, it is up to the public to vote for their favourite from the 49 towns that made this year’s list.

Voting is open until 5pm Wednesday, 28 June at AgTown.com.au to determine the Top 10 towns, which will be announced on July 3.

These will then go through an independent judging process to determine the three finalists, with one receiving the title of 2023 Ag Town of the Year.

Each finalist town will have promotional videos and stories produced for them by Solstice Media, the publisher of InDaily.

The winning town of the 2023 Ag Town of the Year will be presented with a certificate and trophy by the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Clare Scriven.

They will also receive a sign for the town entrance recognising their achievement, a community celebration event and a feature in SALIFE magazine.

The program is run by the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

Minister Scriven said the annual program shines the spotlight on the state’s regions.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight and promote our regions, as well as celebrate the significant $29 billion contribution that our regions make to the state’s economy each year,” she said.

“I encourage everyone to get online and support the town they see showcasing the best that our regional communities represent.”

The Agricultural Town of the Year Award runs alongside InDaily’s regional news program and the 2023 winner will be announced at its Regional Showcase Awards in November.
