When Dushan Zarić arrived in the US from Yugoslavia in his late 20s, he had nothing but a “useless degree” and $2,000. But he had a thirst for hard work, and soon enough was making cocktails under the tutelage of the great Dale DeGroff.
Soon after, a loophole in the law banning smoking in bars inspired him and his co-founders to design Employees Only, which has since become one of the most recognisable hospitality brands in the world.
