Oddio Spring Party – September 25—27

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oddio Bowden will celebrate the arrival of spring with new wines from Frederick Stevenson and Delinquente Wine Co, Sunny’s Pizza, oysters and live tunes, with Max Savage to perform on Sunday. Oddio is located at 31 Drayton Street, Bowden, and will be open Friday from 5pm, Saturday from 3pm and Sunday from 3pm.

Naancho Naancho Man charcoal smokehouse night – September 26

In this banquet, Naancho Naancho Man and Ragini’s Spicery bring together spice, barbecue, naanchos, charcoal and Indian innovation, straight off the flames and on to the table. Tickets are $62 per head and can be booked online, by phoning 7222 4969 or emailing [email protected]

Kangaroo Island Sip & See Day Tour – until March 2021

SeaLink has launched a new series of Kangaroo Island experiences: a one-day  Kangaroo Island Sip & See Day Tour, a one-night escape package, and a two-day ultimate tour — including gin tastings at Kangaroo Island Spirits, and wine tasting at False Cape Wines cellar door. With pick-ups from either Adelaide or Cape Jervis, tours include return ferry transfers and air-conditioned coach touring with a local Kangaroo Island guide, stopping at attractions such as Raptor Domain, Clifford’s Honey Farm Shop, and Seal Bay Conservation Park.

23rd Street Distillery birthday degustation – September 24

To celebrate the anniversary of the launch of 23rd Street Distillery, Siberia Bar and Restaurant will host a pairing of the distillery’s most popular spirits to five delicious courses of food at Siberia’s balcony bar, overlooking the Adelaide Parklands on East Terrace. Tickets are limited and cost $120.

Feast through the Middle East – September 30

Adelaide Central Market favourite Real Falafel will host a cooking demonstration experience, teaching how to make authentic falafel and hummus. Enjoy a three-course meal as Real Falafel’s Mitch Aldawsari presents his tips and tricks and how to replicate them in your home cooking. Traditional belly dancers will also perform to complete the experience. Twenty per cent of ticket profits will be donated to Multicultural Youth SA.

HAHNDORF. HANDMADE. HANDCRAFTED. HANDPICKED. – throughout September

A broad program of more than 250 intimate events and experiences will be held in and around the Main Street of Hahndorf, from wine tastings to art and craft sessions, dining experiences, beer, history, and culture. A German beer masterclass (pictured) will be held on September 18 at The Haus, complemented by a German meal. Most events are ticketed and can be booked online.

Gin Gin – October 4

Lion Arts Factory will host a handful of celebrated South Australian gin producers for Gin Gin on the Sunday of the Labour Day weekend, from 4pm until late. The event will be seated in the Lion Arts Factory courtyard, where guests will meet the producers from 23rd Street Distillery, Adelaide Gin, Applewood Distillery, Needle & Pin Spirits, Never Never Distilling Co and Imperial Measures Distilling.

Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations – Throughout October

Producers in the Coonawarra region will host more than 60 free and ticketed events throughout October as part of Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations. Celebrating the Coonawarra wine region’s signature red wine, Cabernet Sauvignon, the festival will include tasting experiences, blending masterclasses, dinners, and lunches.

The Maker & Me: VHS Wines – October 14

The Fruitful Pursuit’s intimate wine tasting event series The Maker & Me returned in late August, now at a new venue, Yiasou George. On Wednesday, October 14, 20 people will sip wines from mad scientist Sam Smith, founder of VHS wines. The Maker & Me allows South Australia’s best and most interesting winemakers to showcase their wares, including unreleased wines and hard-to-find museum stock, to a small selection of drinkers dedicated to knowing and understanding the dynamic local wine industry. Socktoberfest 2020 – October 17

In lieu of Oktoberfest celebrations this year, Offbeat Socks and Big Shed Brewing Concern have teamed up to deliver Socktoberfest 2020 at Big Shed Brewing, 1154 Old Port Road, Royal Park, from noon to 9pm. Guests are encouraged to don their favourite funky socks and grab a beer. There will be prizes and Offbeat Socks available for purchase.
