Filosi, who was also Paramount’s vice president of operations and facilities Australia and New Zealand, told staff on Thursday that he had been “caught up in an international restructuring program” meaning his local and national position will “cease to exist”.

The television veteran has been with Network 10 Adelaide since February 1986 and has been general manager of the Adelaide operations since July 1999, according to his LinkedIn.

He is one of several Paramount executives reported to have lost their jobs in a global restructuring, including vice president of streaming Liz Baldwin and vice president of marketing Jean Jenkins.

“After 37 years of dedicated, passionate and tireless service, my time at Network 10 has come to an end,” Filosi wrote in an email to staff and other contacts.

“My local and national position will cease to exist in its current form. I have been caught up in an international restructuring program impacting various areas of the business, which includes the Australian operation.

“I look forward to my next career move, whatever and wherever that may be.”

A spokesperson for Paramount Australia and New Zealand said Filosi’s contribution to the company “is impossible to overstate.

“His unwavering enthusiasm, professionalism and committed leadership has been instrumental in South Australia, not to mention nationally,” the spokesperson said.

“Frank’s leadership and management of the national Operations and Facilities departments has been extremely successful.

“He has led the teams through major change and has been instrumental in preparing for significant operation and technology innovations that has taken the business to the next level.

“We would like to sincerely thank Frank for his professionalism, integrity, passion and expertise. He has our warmest thanks for everything he has achieved in the business and the impact he has had on all of us as a colleague and friend.”

Network 10 went into administration in 2017 before it was bought by international media company CBS Corporation, which subsequently merged with Viacom and rebranded as Paramount Global.

In August 2020, Network 10 axed its Adelaide news bulletin helmed by newsreader Rebecca Morse, replacing it with a bulletin presented from Melbourne.

The station this week launched a new Adelaide news bulletin presented by South Australian Kate Freebairn – presenting from Sydney – along with local sports presenter Max Burford and weather presenter Tiffany Warne.

10 News First at 5pm ranks fourth in Adelaide’s TV news ratings, behind Seven, Nine and the ABC.

The relaunched bulletin drew 28,000 Adelaide viewers on Wednesday, compared to Seven’s 98,000, Nine’s 82,000 and the ABC’s 46,000.
