Adelaide Economic Development Agency executive manager Andrew White said that the concierge service was offered so that shoppers could safely store their purchases while they continued hunting down bargains.

“The concierge formed part of an overall experience that included a pop-up wine bar under the Gawler Place Canopy, a complimentary golf buggy to ferry shoppers around Rundle Mall, and DJs,” said White.

“We were thrilled with the popularity of the service and received overwhelmingly positive feedback. It was the second year we ran the activation.”

Other services offered to Mall shoppers were the pop-up Pit Stop Bar run by Mollydooker Wines and the Black Friday chauffeur service, which took shoppers between stores and back to their cars within the retail precinct.

The first hundred shoppers to use the concierge service received a complimentary drink at the Pit Stop Bar, which opened between 11am and 11:30pm on Friday and 11am to 5pm on the weekend.

Rundle Mall was South Australia’s only retail precinct open until midnight on Black Friday, the state’s biggest shopping day of the year.
