New horizons for Phil Hoffman
Phil Hoffmann, Founder and Director of Phil Hoffman Travel, has announced his semi-retirement after 45 years in the travel industry.
Hoffman was formerly Chairman of the Board of the South Australian Tourism Commission.
He was a member of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) State Committee for 25 years, 11 of those as Chapter Chairman.
Hoffman was also Director of AFTA for 13 years and National President for six years.
South Australia’s most awarded travel agent, Hoffman is a ten-time winner of ‘Australian Travel Agent of the Year’.
Hoffman will remain on board as Executive Director while long-time Director and CEO Peter Williams takes on his role as Managing Director and CEO.
Williams has been employed by the travel agency for almost three decades.
Promotions at Hames Sharley
Madeleine Steele has been appointed to lead the Adelaide Studio of architecture and design company Hames Sharley.
Steele takes on the role of South Australian Studio Leader after six years with the company where she began as a student in 2017.
She was appointed Associate in April 2022 before taking on her new role.
Four further members of the South Australian Team have been promoted to Senior Associate including Hannah Williams, Katherine Grez, Grace Stokes and Spencer Tuffnell.
Hames Sharley Managing Director Caillin Howard said investing in the company’s people is critical to its success.

A paramount appointment
Cameron Mudge has been appointed General Manager at Paramount Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), the company owning Network 10, MTV and Nickelodeon.
Mudge joined the media company in 2009 as Group Sales Manager and has since held several senior positions, most recently as Sales Director Adelaide.
Prior to joining the company, Mudge worked in radio sales for nearly a decade, holding positions with Nova Entertainment and Southern Cross Austereo.
The appointment commenced on Monday, May 1.
Movements at Micro-X
Kingsley Hall has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of x-ray technology company Micro-X.
Hall joined the company in 2020 as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary.
He was previously Director of Operations and Chief Financial Officer of Discovery Parks and Chief Operating Officer of Nova Entertainment, formerly known as DMG Radio Australia.
The appointment comes after the current Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Peter Rowland announced his retirement.
The handover will last six months as Rowland remains on board as Non-Executive Director before his retirement in November 2023.
The company has commenced a search for a new Chief Financial Officer to replace Hall as he moves into his new role.
Corporate Position: the latest executive employment opportunities
The Australian Medical Association (South Australia) (AMA(SA)) is looking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer. Reporting to the Board and working closely with the AMA(SA) President, the CEO will lead the workplace; represent the organisation and its interests on committees and in forums at state and national levels; maintain stakeholder relationships and promote the organisation’s advocacy activities.
Pedare, an independent, co-educational Anglican and Uniting Church day school, is looking to appoint a Safety and Compliance Lead. The role will advise, guide and monitor the College’s safety systems while ensuring all WHS documentation remains up-to-date and in line with regulations and legislation. Pedare is seeking a professional who can drive the implementation of best practice in maturing its current WH&S systems and outcomes.
Australian Naval Infrastructure Pty Ltd (ANI) is looking to appoint a Financial Controller. The role will report directly to and support the Chief Financial Officer in relation to short and long term financial planning, risk management, payroll, budgeting, accounting and projects. ANI offers a positive and collaborative culture with a range of flexible work options and performance-based incentives. The successful candidate must be eligible to meet requirements for defence security clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level.
Helping with housing
Homelessness support service Hutt St Centre Adelaide has appointed Angela Carey to its Board of Directors.
Carey is the former Chief Executive Officer of not-for-profit organisation Common Equity Housing SA.
She has previously held senior management positions at HomeStart Finance, Savings & Loans Credit Union and Adelaide Bank.
New CFO for Capital Prudential
Property developer and investment manager Capital Prudential has appointed Tim Foster as Chief Financial Officer.
He was employed at the company in May 2022 as Non-Executive Director in a part-time capacity.
Foster has held CFO positions since 2000 with roles in Sydney at Colonial First State, Challenger Limited, HBOS Australia and Stockland.
From 2014 to 2021, Foster worked in Doha as CFO for real estate investment company Qatari Diar.
In Adelaide, Foster was formerly CFO of Credit Union SA.
Celebrate with Solstice
The parent company of InDaily, SALIFE Magazine and CityMag, Solstice Media has appointed Luna O’Neill as Sales and Events Executive.
O’Neill joins the media company from photography company JRP Group where she was employed as Digital Content Officer.
She has previously worked as Entertainment Manager at The Austral.
Her appointment commenced Monday, May 1.
A lifetime of support
Gemma Cooper has joined Lifetime Support Authority (LSA), a treatment, care and support service for people who sustain lifelong disabilities from motor vehicle accidents in South Australia, as Director of People and Culture.
Prior to her appointment with LSA, Cooper was General Manager at NDIS service provider SACARE and held numerous roles with Hearing Australia.
She currently serves on the Boards of Technology and Disability SA and Spence Club, an organisation for high-performing female leaders in the state.
