Adelaide intelligence paving the way to a safer world

Adelaide-founded open-source intelligence (OSINT) solutions company Fivecast has opened its new head office in Adelaide.

Founded in 2017, the company provides OSINT solutions enabling organisations to explore data and uncover actionable insights critical to protecting global communities against terrorism, organised crime, violent extremism, fraud, and drug, human and weapons trafficking.

Fivecast has strategic partnerships across the globe and is part of the “Five Eyes” alliance with its presence established in the United Kingdom and the United States.

The new head office in Adelaide joins those already operating in Arlington, Virginia, Canberra and London.

“Fivecast’s journey from Adelaide tech-start up to trusted defence partner at the cutting edge of the intelligence community is testament to the innovation and expertise our city holds,” said Minister for Trade and Investment, Nick Champion.

“The dynamic use of this technology and big data all headquartered in Adelaide provides endless opportunities for partnerships with international law enforcement, border security, intelligence, and defence organisations.

“Fivecast is a South Australian success story and the South Australian Government looks forward to being able to continue to support their expansion and sending local expertise overseas as we seek to improve security around the world.”

Perks to sponsor Illuminate Adelaide

Adelaide-based accounting and wealth advisory firm, Perks has announced its sponsorship of South Australia’s major winter arts event, Illuminate Adelaide.

Perks CEO James Black said the partnership with Illuminate Adelaide was a perfect fit for the firm which has a history of backing the arts, creators, and innovators.

“Illuminate Adelaide has gone from strength to strength each year since it first lit up Adelaide in 2021; delivering exciting, engaging and accessible events for families, friends and visitors by showcasing landmarks and public spaces in a different light,” Black said.

The sponsorship comes after Perks last year relocated their headquarters from Parkside to Flinders Street and began further advocating for and advising people working in creative industries.

“We are excited to partner with Perks, an organisation that shares our vision of growth and prosperity for the wider community,” said Illuminate Adelaide Co-Artistic Director and Founder, Rachael Azzopardi.

“We’re both homegrown organisations with a clear focus on South Australia. Having grown from humble beginnings over 40 years ago, Perks is one of the great South Australian success stories and we are thrilled to have them on board as a partner of Illuminate Adelaide.”

Government touts benefits of Invest SA

Invest SA, the government agency tasked with growing international and national investment opportunities, was brought back by the Malinauskas Labor Government in 2022 after the former Liberal Government scrapped the division.

Executive Director of Invest SA, Chris Wood said the division is “growing opportunities for the state by attracting local, national and international investment into South Australia which in turn, grows the state’s economy and creates jobs for South Australians.”

“We have announced a $12.5 million hydrogen production project – a partnership between Japan’s Ministry of the Environment and Japanese company Marubeni – which will deliver the first green hydrogen export from SA later this year,” Wood said.

“We have also seen an exciting addition to our strong Defence sector with Kongsberg expanding their operations with a new, $15 million investment in a purpose-built facility in Technology Park which will be home to hardware manufacturing and assembly, along with maintenance, and software development to assist in the delivery of defence acquisition programs.”

As part of a campaign to promote further investment opportunities the Invest SA website has been enhanced with a new logo and branding.

A range of investment resources is featured on the site, including market research, entrepreneurial support, and business opportunities.
