Brickman Experience – Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre

This interactive exhibition opening this weekend showcases creations made entirely from Lego, including a model Airbus A380, a Ferrari, the Sydney Opera House and what is described as the world’s largest Lego flower, all built by Lego “certified professional” Ryan McNaught. There is also an area where visitors can build their own models. Brickman Experience is at the AEC Theatre until January 10.

Flume – Adelaide Entertainment Centre

Multi ARIA Award-winning electronic music artist Flume is playing at the Entertainment Centre on Saturday night as part of national tour celebrating the release of his latest album, Skin. He’s being supported by MC Vince Staples, who features as a special guest on the album, and UK producer SOPHIE.

Christmas Proms – Her Majesty’s Theatre

This year’s Great Gatsby-themed Christmas Proms promises to bring back the “glitz and glamour” of the 1920s. The concert is being led by jazz singer Emma Pask and tenor Stephen Mahy (Jersey Boys), with Timothy Sexton conducting the Adelaide Art Orchestra and the Ding Productions dancers busting out the Charleston. Matinee and evening performances continue at Her Majesty’s Theatre today (Friday) and tomorrow.

Moonlight Cinema – Botanic Park

The outdoor cinema continues in Botanic Park, with upcoming screenings including Inferno (tonight), Sing (Saturday), Red Dog: True Blue (Sunday), Allied (Tuesday), Bad Santa 2 (Wednesday) and La La Land (Thursday). Gates open at 7pm and screenings start at sundown. Full program here.

British India – The Gov

This Melbourne-based four-piece indie-rock group – with four top-10 ARIA albums under their belt – are touring in support of their latest single, “I Thought We Knew Each Other”. They’re promising a high-octane show at The Governor Hindmarsh tonight (Friday), with support by High Violet and Cosmo Thundercat. On Sunday at The Gov, Adelaide groups The Satellites and The Rhythm Aces join forces for a night of roots rock.

Singin’ in the Rain – Festival Theatre

The music and choreography from the classic 1952 film telling the story of the transition from silent movies to the new era of sound is brought to life – with the help of 12,000 litres of water – in this high-energy Helpmann Award-nominated production. Nikon-Walkley Press Photography Exhibition – State Library

Ninety stunning photos are on display in this exhibition showcasing winners and finalists from the 2016 Nikon-Walkley Awards for Excellence in Photojournalism. They range from harrowing images of war to those capturing triumphant moments in sport and the beauty of artistic achievement. The exhibition will be at the State Library of SA’s Institute Building until February 12. Read more in this InDaily article.

Sappers & Shrapnel – Art Gallery of SA

This exhibition at the Art Gallery of South Australia is inspired by trench art – objects made by soldiers and civilians from the waste of warfare. Sappers & Shrapnel features work from the Australian War Memorial’s collection, as well as new work by contemporary artists including Fiona Hall, Ben Quilty, Sera Waters and the Tjanpi Desert Weavers.
