Adelaide chef and restaurateur Jock Zonfrillo has won a prestigious international culinary prize worth more than $157,000 for his work championing Australian indigenous culture and culinary traditions.
SA has taken out 13 spots in the 2018 list of Australia’s Top 100 Restaurants, with Duncan Welgemoed’s Africola coming in fifth and a number of eateries – including Osteria Oggi and The Summertown Aristologist – making the cut for the first time.
South Australia has scored three gongs in the first national Good Food Guide Awards, including regional wine list of the year for Hills bar and restaurant The Summertown Aristologist and the service excellence award for Africola’s Nikki Friedli.
Jock Zonfrillo will open a new-look bistro this month in the space beneath his Rundle Street fine-dining restaurant Orana, promising a seasonal menu using the indigenous ingredients and techniques that have become his signature.
