The 20-year-old has played 13 A-League matches for the Reds since joining in January, claiming the club’s Rising Star award.

“My aim was always to try and get over to Europe, ever since I was a little kid,” Mauk said in a statement.

“To be able to make the move now on the back of winning the A-League Championship in Adelaide really is a dream come true.

“Hopefully, when I return to Australia, I’ll be able to put the Adelaide United shirt on again.”

Reds’ head coach Guillermo Amor said Mauk thoroughly deserved the opportunity to play in the Eredivisie.

“His hard work and determination to improve his football has bought him this opportunity and we understand this move,” he said.
