Showdown 52 will kick off at 7:00pm on Saturday, August 20, in Round 23 of the AFL season.

The Port Adelaide home game will be broadcast by Fox Sports and carried by Seven in South Australia.

It’s the second prime-time scheduling for the Showdown this year, after the two clubs met on a Friday night in Round 3.

That night saw more than 39,000 people watch the Crows knock off the Power by four points courtesy of a dramatic after-the-siren goal from Adelaide recruit Jordan Dawson.

It was Adelaide’s first win of the season while it condemned Port Adelaide to an 0-3 start to the year.

Both clubs may be well out of finals contention by the time the final round Showdown comes around, with the Power already sitting two games and percentage out of the eight.

The minor round of the 2022 @AFL Premiership season will close with a bang at #AdelaideOval, with a contest between SA's biggest rivals.

Showdown 52 will run concurrently with a clash between Essendon and Richmond at the MCG.

Meanwhile, Melbourne have been scheduled to face Brisbane at the Gabba on Friday night for their final match of the season, in a game that could have huge ramifications for the top-four hopes of both clubs.

Another feature of Round 23 will be the encounter between Carlton and Collingwood at the MCG on Sunday, August 21.

Both teams are pushing hard for a top-four berth and a huge crowd is expected to attend.

Fremantle may need to beat GWS at Manuka Oval earlier Saturday, August 20 to snare a top-four berth or a home final.

The final match of the home-and-away season is a Sunday fixture between St Kilda and Sydney at Marvel Stadium.
