Boak has reported hamstring soreness and has been sidelined from the game as a precautionary measure.

Power assistant coach Brendon Lade says Boak isn’t in doubt for the start of the premiership season.

“He’s just got a little bit of tightness in his hamstring so we’re not going to take any risk in a (pre-season) game,” Lade told reporters on Friday.

” He has had a great pre-season and done nearly all the work and he’s very fit at the moment.”

Winger Jared Polec and Chad Wingard will make their first competitive outings in the pre-season with both recovered from hamstring strains.

“They have got some minutes they have to get through for us,” Lade said of the duo.

“The the good thing about (pre-season games) is you get to have eight on the bench.

“So we will keep two or three over and they (Polec and Wingard) will play a certain amount of minutes and come out of the game.

“We’re very confident they will get through.”

Former Brisbane captain Tom Rockliff, who joined the Power in last year’s trade period, won’t play against the Crows.

Rockliff is battling knee soreness but, like Boak, is rated a certain starter for Port’s premiership season opener against Fremantle on March 24.

“( Rockliff) will do some match simulation over the next week and a bit,” Lade said.

“He will get a full week of training in and start really preparing for round one, he’s tracking along really nicely at the moment.”
