After Adelaide’s star defender Jake Lever confirmed this week he wanted out, speculation is mounting that exciting midfielder/forward Charlie Cameron will soon confirm his mooted request to be traded to Brisbane.

Cameron, who is under contract, starred in the Crows’ preliminary final win over Geelong, kicking five goals.

The Crows were tightlipped this morning about Cameron’s future, but the club has previously stated that Cameron is a required player for next year.

Adelaide are set to play hard ball on defender Lever, who wants to go to Melbourne. Melbourne are prepared to offer a combination of a first and second-round pick at this and future year’s drafts for Lever, but the Crows aren’t satisfied.

Some Crows players are reportedly furious with Lever’s impending defection.

Crows captain Taylor Walker blasted Lever when the young defender phoned him, according to AFL great Garry Lyon.

Lever was allegedly photographed dumping his Adelaide gear into a bin earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Port Adelaide ruckman Matthew Lobbe, who is still under contract, could join Brisbane after struggling for opportunities behind Paddy Ryder.

The Power and Gold Coast are both in the mix to snare Geelong livewire Steven Motlop.

Out-of-favour forwards Jack Watts and Jake Stringer have some big decisions to make as they weigh up where to resume their AFL careers.

The Bulldogs are fed up with Stringer and are committed to trading the 23-year-old premiership forward.

Stringer is set to nominate his club of choice by Friday, with Geelong and Essendon in the box seat.

While Stringer is definitely on the way out, there’s still a chance the Demons and Watts can patch up their differences.

Watts is desperate to stay, but odds are the Demons will move him on during trade week.

Collingwood have emerged as a potential destination club for Watts, who has also attracted interest from Port Adelaide and Sydney.

Magpies players reportedly made contact with Watts earlier this week, and the 26-year-old could be open to the move.

The trade period begins in earnest on Monday, when recruiters will gather at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
