The Redbacks needed less than an hour at the SCG today to reach the victory target, posting 3-192 off 49.4 overs.

Allrounder Joe Mennie was dropped a couple of times before hitting the winning runs to finish 26 not out.

SA’s top run-scorer for the season Callum Ferguson remained unwavering in compiling an unbeaten 49.

The win lifts South Australia, who have featured in the past two Shield finals, off the bottom of the ladder and back into final contention amid a congested ladder.

Left-arm seamer Nick Winter starred with the ball in just his second Shield match to take 5-61 in the Blues’ second innings for a 10-wicket haul, as the hosts were bowled out for 213 on Sunday to set a modest target of 189.
