The battered world champions arrived in Auckland ahead of Saturday’s third Test with the series locked at one win apiece after the Silver Ferns stormed to a two-point win in Tasmania.

Robinson said her team would take lessons from the loss.

“That performance was a kick up the butt that we needed to say you have to do the work, otherwise it won’t happen,” Robinson said.

“We didn’t work hard enough.”

Robinson said playing in Auckland, and then the final Test in Invercargill next Thursday, held no fears.

“It’s always a challenge playing over there but there’s no reason why we can’t get the job done,” she said.

Robinson said her team had drawn confidence from the fact that they felt they didn’t play well yet only lost by two points.

“Our attack didn’t fire like it did in the first game,” she said.

“I know personally I felt I struggled at times … they had obviously done a lot of homework on our attack end.

‘We needed to adjust better to what they were doing.”

The Silver Ferns are set to bolster their goal circle with the return of star shooter Maria Tutaia, who has been sidelined for six weeks with a foot injury.

In her absence, Te Paea Selby-Rickit and Ameliaranne Ekenasio have impressed at goal attack but New Zealand coach Janine Southby said the 102-Test veteran was desperate to get back on the court.

“Maria is in the plan for Auckland and we’re looking forward to her fighting her way back into contention,” Southby said.

“Maria is an absolute competitor and it’s been frustrating for her sitting on the sideline, but I know that when she gets the opportunity she’ll take it with both hands and she is just chomping at the bit.”
