Luxury living in St Peters

The owners of a luxury St Peters property they had built 10 years ago say it’s the perfect family home and they wouldn’t change a thing – they just enjoyed the building process so much they want to do it again.

The four-bedroom home at 67A Second Ave is designed over three levels and boasts multiple living areas for both parents and children, including a games/rumpus room, media room, large back yard and a second large courtyard.

The prestigious home was designed and built through Outset Design and owner Donna Stevens says the family is keen to build again in the same area.

“Everybody loves a project,” she laughs. “This has just been the most beautiful home to live in. Everything about it is amazing. Whilst it’s large, it doesn’t feel too large – it’s in perfect proportions. There’s lots of storage because I like to keep things tidy. There’s great flow from the inside to the outdoor area: it’s all very seamless.”

Donna says the new owners of the property won’t have to add a thing – just move in and enjoy.

The home also has rear lane access, a cellar, a study and storeroom and sits on almost 800 square metres of land.

It’s for sale through Fox Real Estate agents Candy Bennett and Andrew Fox and the price guide is $2,750,000 to $2,795,000.

Exceptional renovation in Fullarton

Julia Hanxhari works in finance for BAE Systems but renovating homes is where she gets to show off her artistic talents.

Julia has renovated eight houses in the past 10 years, with her latest project the transformation of a 1930s tudor home in Fullarton which is now on the market.

While Julia enjoys the financial benefits that come from selling her upmarket and upgraded homes, she is in the real estate game for the love of renovating.

“I just love to get all the ideas and see it all come to life,” says the mum of two.

Julia bought the corner property last June and the previous owner, an interior designer, had already drawn up plans for the renovation, which Julia used as a guide. However, she also enlisted the help of Penny Crompton from The Interior Studio to help with final interior choices.

A highlight of the three-bedroom home is the light-filled sunken lounge room that leads to the master suite with walk-in robe and en suite, as well as views to the solar-heated pool.

”The biggest challenge was just to match the old part of the house to the new,” Julia says. “But there is a lovely flow from the old through to the new. This house has a very calm, peaceful feeling.”

Other features include great outdoor entertaining space including alfresco kitchen with built in barbecue, state of the art kitchen with butler’s pantry, formal lounge and double garage with access from Cremorne Street. Julia says she is now looking for a Victorian-era property in Malvern as her next project.

The home is for sale through Harris Real Estate agents Kris Casey and Todd PenroseBest offers by 12 noon on Tuesday, March 19.
