Commenting on the story: Labor candidate slams union over Marshall ‘rat’ sledge
I naively thought that corflutes had to be put up by registered political parties. I was astounded to see all those CFMEU corflutes.
Does this mean that I’m entitled to put up corflutes expressing my political views too? – Mark Coleman
Commenting on the story: SA priority seats targeted for federal infrastructure spend
“The Darlington to Anzac Highway section of the North South Corridor will also benefit the seats of Hindmarsh and Adelaide in addition to Boothby.” Benefit the candidates, sure, but not the local residents who will no longer be able to cross South Rd or Anzac Highway.
The money should be spent on getting cars off the road, not to encourage a greater influx of traffic. If you’re sitting in a car you’re not “stuck in traffic” – you are traffic. – Alex Newton
Commenting on the Theatre review: Girl From the North Country
There seems to be a disconnect between the theatre critics and the theatre-going public I’ve spoken to.
While the singing in Girl From The North Country is spectacular and the acting is fine, the show is just a bunch of barely coherent individual stories with no real plot to speak of and Dylan songs just randomly inserted at intervals, not meshing with or developing the plot because there’s no plot to develop.
This just seems to be a ‘forced’ attempt to simulate the success of Mamma Mia. At my session, I almost fell asleep during the first half, quite a few people left at the interval and, if not for the quality of the singing, so would have I. – Angelo Mazzei
Commenting on the story: In the studio with Clem Newchurch
I have had the pleasure of knowing Clem over 15 years, from being the local Aboriginal Education Worker at my daughter’s high school.
Clem has always been so creative and always showed respect for his surroundings and the land he works on. So proud how far he has come and continuing to reach his best in everything he loves doing. Well done Clem, just love your work. – Jennifer Glover
