If an employee who is unvaccinated has to quarantine, are they on leave without pay or do they have to use annual leave or sick leave, assuming they have it? – Jo O’Leary

My question is, how did the timber company think they were going to get the trees off the island once they were due to be harvested?

Sealink doesn’t have the capacity so I would have thought the timber company would have applied for a deep water port when they applied to plant the trees? – Rob Haak

They certainly got it wrong. My son – fully vaccinated, Covid checks in place and with a place organised to quarantine – waited close to two months with no response.

Wonderful town, resilient people, terrific community spirit and always on the go doing stuff for each other and for the whole area.

What’s more, this can do attitude has been going on for many years so the town has grown vibrant, a good place to live. People and events and the area have grown from what was once a rather tired and dusty town on the edge of nowhere. Now it is the place to be if you still want to be in the country. – Trevor Nottle
