Multi-ARIA award winning singer/songwriter and past Adelaide Cabaret Festival director Kate Ceberano will entertain guests at next year’s ANZ Community Ball on March 17 at Adelaide Oval.

Chairperson of this year’s organising committee Adele Fiene said the committee was “really excited and looking forward to” seeing her perform.

The annual community event benefits multiple South Australian charities and is organised by a committee including local leaders from ANZ, supported by dozens of volunteers.

This will be the Fiene’s first ANZ Community Ball, coinciding with her move from Sydney to Adelaide in November last year.

“Where I was previously, we heard about this community ball every single year,” she said.

“It gets air play through ANZ all over the company, so it’s something I wanted to be a part of!”

The 2023 ball will be hosted by the Royal Flying Doctor Service, with another six major charities also benefitting from the fundraising event.

Fiene said the first event came about when her predecessor Brendan Rinaldi and colleagues were looking to support local charities.

She said the group found their efforts would potentially be “a drop in the ocean”, and they decided that by collaborating with local businesses and working as one they could “raise much more money for some really worthy charities”.

This involvement with local business will see the night’s menu, designed by Adelaide Oval executive chef Phil Pope, showcasing premium South Australian food and wine.

Many local businesses have also generously donated items for the live auction and silent auction.

Tickets will soon go on sale for the major fundraising raffle, which will be drawn on the night. The prize is a stunning new Yaris Hybrid All Wheel Drive from Peter Kittle Toyota.

The two previous balls both sold out fast, attracting around 650 guests to each event, with this year’s one raising over $350,000 for the participating charities.

Tickets for the 2023 ANZ Community Ball can be purchased online.
