I’ve been working in the financial services Industry for more than 40 years and Statewide Super has been helping South Australians fund their retirement for more than 30 years.

I really thought I’d seen everything. 2020 has proven me wrong.

Together, in SA, we’ve faced and defeated bushfires, we’ve clawed our way back from the fall of our State owned bank, global financial crises and share market plummets.

Together, we can do a lot, South Australia. In times of a global pandemic we’ve adapted our business models to overcome a changed working landscape. Together, we will draw on the resilience our state is renowned for to once more overcome our current challenges. And without the cooperation of all South Australians, together, this great State would never have been coined ‘the safest place in the world’.

The impact of the coronavirus has taught us the importance of being local and working together as a community. Statewide Super is proud to support South Australian local communities, individuals and businesses.

We invest in infrastructure, assets and bonds – both locally and overseas – and what this means is that we can play a role in helping SA get back on its feet.

As an organisation, we are proud to support South Australian local communities, individuals and businesses and we know a few things.

We know we are not the biggest superannuation fund in the country and therefore do not offer some of the economies of scale as some of our competitors. However, our agile and nimble approach means there are a few important things that we can offer as a result of our chosen home.

Due to our size, you will always be able to talk to a person on the end of the phone, who is employed right here in the state, if you need us. We have a local Super Hub for you to visit, whenever you want more personal assistance, face-to-face advice or super education. And we have the ability to support local business and communities to engage with our members and the general public through our education facility, which we love and will continue to offer.

We are parochially proud to be South Australian and will continue to back sport in SA, commit ourselves to the financial education of the community, work alongside the Country Fire Services and State Emergency Services to support the protection of our regional communities and help local businesses to support their employees.

As a fellow South Australian I implore you to invest in our local economy – in whatever capacity you can to get behind the rebuilding of this fine state.

South Australia has shown huge capacity to respond to change and uncertainty and I know as a community that we will band together and emerge from this situation stronger than ever.

We are an industry super fund that will continue to support our members and most importantly, manage their superannuation money to assist them to achieve the retirement they have worked so hard for and together, we will work to help secure the future of South Australia.
