A 73-year-old Felixstow man has been charged with one count of abuse of public office over his handling of a $14 million deceased estate.

Jun 04, 2020, updated Jun 04, 2020

It will be alleged that between April 2004 and October 2006 the man, who was then working as an estates services officer at the Public Trustee, failed to perform or discharge an official duty or function in relation to the estate.

It will be further alleged the man intended to secure a benefit for others or cause detriment to another person.

The charge follows an investigation by SA’s Independent Commissioner Against Corruption, with the man summonsed to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on June 18.
