Adelaide man jailed for 'operating' on his dog
Local
An Adelaide man who operated on his dog with a kitchen knife will spend one month in prison.
The 45-year-old from West Hindmarsh was convicted of cutting out a large cancer from his 18-year-old cattle dog’s shoulder in June last year, the RSPCA says.
The dog was left with an open wound, and later rescued and euthanised.
The man pleaded guilty to the ill treatment of an animal causing death or serious harm.
He was sentenced to one month in jail and banned from owning animals for life in Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
