The supermarket giant says customers will still earn so-called Woolworths Dollars as they spend but from January 1 can choose to automatically convert those to Qantas points.
Woolworths’ revamped scheme has attracted criticism from customers and consumer group Choice, which said it was convoluted and put hurdles in the way of customers who could simply buy cheaper products at the likes of Aldi.
“This fantastic outcome means Woolworths Rewards is 100 per cent relevant to all Woolworths customers, while also offering the best frequent flyer partnership in Australian supermarkets,” Woolworths managing director Brad Banducci said on Tuesday.
