Woman tasered by police in Rundle Mall incident

A woman has been tasered in Rundle Mall after allegedly threatening police and security officers with a knife.

Police said that officers were called to the Mall at about 11.30 this morning after reports a woman was behaving in a disorderly manner.

After Rundle Mall security staff her and were allegedly threatened with a knife, police arrived and subdued her using a Taser.

Police said the the 36-year-old Blackwood woman allegedly had a box cutter and two pairs of scissors.

She was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for assessment and police said she would likely later be charged with assault and carrying an offensive weapon.
