It comes after Australian captain Pat Cummins was this morning withdrawn from the second Ashes Test at Adelaide Oval, after being deemed a close contact of a COVID-19 case following a visit to an Adelaide restaurant last night.

Authorities have not confirmed which restaurant Cummins visited.

Meanwhile, George’s on Waymouth has shut after a COVID-positive person reportedly visited the city restaurant.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, owner George Kasimatis said he shut the restaurant while it underwent a deep clean.

SA Health is yet to list George’s Restaurant as an exposure site.

“I have been in communication with SA Health and working closely with them to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers,” Kasimatis wrote on Facebook.

SA Health is yet to announce how many new COVID-19 cases were recorded in South Australia overnight.

However, Premier Steven Marshall told reporters earlier this morning that there were no new cases reported in the Aṉangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands, or across multiple residential aged care facilities that were visited by two infectious health care workers last week.
