Adelaide, you gorgeous thing! I cannot bloody wait to come back and get my teeth into Feast. There are so many events this year and I have had a look at everything that’s happening and put together a few top picks. Honestly, it’s like trying to pick your favourite cocktail … anything with alcohol!

Carnival – Feast opening night party

This one’s a given as I’ll be the ringmaster on the night and I’m super-pumped about it. There are going to be some incredible carnival acts to see, drag kings and queens, DJs and more (including pop singer Brendan Maclean, from the Fringe hit Velvet). There certainly won’t be a shortage of entertainment. – Saturday, November 9, Migration Museum

Nunsense A-Men

All I could think of when I saw this was, Sister Act ... but with men? This show looks hilarious and there is no better fit for a queer arts and cultural festival than having gay men dressed as nuns taking the mickey out of religious institutions. – November 7-30, Holden Street Theatres

Dykes on Bikes in conversation

Dykes on Bikes are superheroes, leading some of the major pride parades across the globe. I’m fascinated to learn more about them in this conversation with a panel of SA DOBs, hosted by Margie Fischer. We watch them lead the parade but we don’t normally get to hear about their personal stories and what it means to be part of Dykes on Bikes. – Sunday, November 10, National Motor Museum

Crochet with a Gay Hooker

This looks so good. Gay, disabled, fibre artist Richard Boyle is exhibiting plush portraits of his crochet creations – including Madonna, Divine and stars of TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race – in an exhibition at the Adelaide City Library. He is also teaching workshops on how to make your own crochet doll. I need a Trish doll! – November 9-24, Adelaide City Library

Sugarbabies

Is it hot in here or is it just me? The Ziegfeld Boys certainly know how to take a good picture and I’m sure their show won’t disappoint. A mixture of burlesque, musical theatre and comedy dusted with plenty of glitz and sparkle? You better believe I’m going to that! – November 21-23, Tandanya

Pride Basketball Match

Look, it’s no secret I’m not that into sport, however my fellow Feast ambassador Nat Hurst will be flying the rainbow flag proudly for this event, so I reckon it’ll be a very entertaining game. Even I can’t deny the electric atmosphere generated at sporting events – well, from what I’ve seen on TV – so may as well give it a whirl. – November 22, Titanium Security Arena, Findon
