As we adjust to the new reality in urban Adelaide, spare a thought for our fellow South Australians living and working in the regions.

While COVID-19 is challenging the entire country, for people in our regions the uncertainty of the pandemic comes on top of drought and then fires.

Compounding the problem is a shrinking country media that limits the ability for people to be heard.

To help counter these problems, Solstice Media is launching the annual Regional Showcase on March 30.

This year it will be much more than a celebration of our country communities.

This year we will be reporting on, and from, the regions to not only ensure these important stories are told but also ensure that vital regional journalism isn’t further diminished by the stark commercial realities facing all of us.

Each week we will bring our readers – across InDaily, The Lead South Australia, SALIFE and CityMag – regional news stories that matter as well as some inspirational tales of individuals and communities doing what country people do best – having a go.

We will compile these stories and, then, later in the year – when it’s safe – we plan to celebrate the best of South Australia’s regions at a special showcase event.

If you have a tale to tell or know of one, email us here.
