Another year over… here comes 2014

What have you achieved this year? Or, more importantly, what cool things did you do in South Australia?

This time of year we are all thinking of what to give as Christmas presents and I think the beauty of a SA Shorts holiday is that it can jump start a loved one’s South Australian holiday. Everyone loves a holiday and while people always intend on taking one, sometimes it takes a little push before they book that precious time off work.

Think of someone in your life who works too hard or isn’t taking the time to smell the roses. That is the person who needs a holiday for Christmas. It doesn’t need to be expensive either. Get them a cabin in a holiday park or a room in a nice city hotel; a dolphin swim or kayaking adventure; a winery tour or seafood expedition – the choices are endless.

If you have heard them talking about diving with sea lions send them to the Eyre Peninsula; if it is food and wine experiences they are after they will find the Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Clare and Fleurieu Peninsula not far away. Send them to the wild and rugged Kangaroo Island or down the River Murray in the Riverland or Murraylands, Lakes and Coorong. For a family getaway Yorke Peninsula and Limestone Coast offer great value for money and lifetime memories; and for a sense of perspective, send them to the timeless Flinders Ranges and Outback.

Christmas is about looking after your loved ones and if they have been working too much then what better time of the year to look them in the eye and say, “We got you this night in the Adelaide Hills because you’re working too hard and need some time off.”

Have a safe and Merry Christmas and use the break away from work to reconnect with your loved ones and explore the world’s best backyard which is right here in South Australia.

Go and get some sand between your toes!
