Adelaide Shores Enters the Splash Zone

BIG4 Adelaide Shores Caravan Park and Resort, the summer seaside destination for families for decades, has intensified its focus on children’s entertainment with a new water park, the first of its kind in South Australia.

The West Beach accommodation and sporting precinct, which recently won the best Tourist & Caravan Park in the South Australian Tourism Awards for the fourth consecutive year, opened its Splash Zone in October, catering for toddlers through to teenagers staying with their families at the Park.

The Splash zone features spinning, self-starting water guns, spray lanes and a giant water bucket which tips its load from a great height every few minutes.

The Park’s newest feature will be available to an estimated 200 to 500 children staying at the Park each day over the summer holidays.

Adelaide Shores Chief Executive Kate Williams said the $500,000 facility was built to broaden its suite of activities and its appeal to families who are increasingly seeking entertainment options alongside their accommodation.

“It’s totally safe so parents can watch their kids enjoy the water while they sit back and enjoy some reading and relaxation time,’’ Kate said.

“We’re excited to be the first South Australian caravan park to offer a water play area and I expect it to be a main attraction for visitors on family holidays, particularly local families who are looking for a quick and fun getaway near the beach.

“Adelaide Shores is a leader in customer experience and provides a memorable stay for children while parents can have a holiday too,’’ Kate said.
