The Mercedes-Benz Unley Long Lunch – October 13

King William Road will host the Mercedes-Benz Unley Long Lunch (formerly known as Variety on King William) as part of the 2017 Adelaide Fashion Festival. Guests will enjoy a gourmet grazing platter, followed by a two-course meal provided by King William Road restaurants, while dining along a 200m stretch of the road. Pikes Beer Company APA beer launch – October 12

Clare Valley brewer Pikes will be travelling down to Sturt Street Cellars for the release of Merica! – its take on the American Pale Ale. To celebrate, Sturt Street Cellars will host four taps of Pikes brews: the Merica APA, the GABS release Double Barrel Black, the Pale Ale, and the Pilsner Lager. Meet the Maker at Two Sisters – October 14

Goodwood Road small bar (and restaurant) Two Sisters is hosting a Meet the Maker event featuring Shifty Lizard Brewing Co. For the $35 ticket price, guests can choose from two cans from the Shifty Lizard range, as well as a full range of tastings, kranskies and charcuterie courtesy of Goodwood Quality Meats. The Market Shed Twilight Market – October 14

For fans of the Market Shed on Holland who find it difficult to get motivated every Sunday morning, this twilight event will feature all the Market Shed goodness you know and love, including PM-appropriate delights such as locally made craft beer, cider, gin and wine. The twilight market will run from 4pm until 10pm. Entry is $2, and yes, there is still pooch parking, so your pup can come along.

Adelaide Hills Spring Wine Festival – October 15

The Stirling Hotel will this weekend host the 2017 Adelaide Hills Spring Wine Festival. There will be more than 100 wines available, including from Deviation Road Winery, Longview Vineyard, Vinteloper, SC Pannell, Petaluma, Chain of Ponds, and Sew and Sew Wines. Tickets are $35 plus booking fee, which includes a souvenir Riedel wine glass to take home, plus discounted prices for all bottles of wine sold on the day. Purchase tickets via the event page.

Gin Sling and Slider Off – October 15

Barossa Distilling Company will be slinging gins this weekend, while playing host to a slider-off between Harvest Kitchen and Forage Supply Co. The latter will serve its pulled-jackfruit burger, while Harvest Kitchen will plate up its pulled-pork burger. Who will win? Come along and see for yourself. The event runs from 12pm until 5pm and tickets can be purchased for $45 here.

Six Hands at Maxwell of McLaren Vale – October 15

Sydney chefs Nelly Robinson and Jason Brown, of nel. restaurant, are bound for McLaren Vale to join with Maxwell Restaurant chef Fabian Lehmann in preparing this six-course degustation lunch and dinner. Dishes will be matched with new and old vintages from Maxwell Wines, selected and introduced by winemaker Mark Maxwell. There will be two sessions – at 12.30pm and 6.30pm, with tickets for each costing $200. Details and bookings here.

Ferment the Festival – October 19-22

This new festival will showcase a wide range of Australian fermented foods – including cheese, beer and chocolate – over four days at Rundle Park. It will include an eight-course “Fermented Feast” presented by chef Jock Zonfrillo, wine showcases and masterclasses, talks, and food and drink workshops where fermenting experts will share their skills. An Italian Celebration of South Australia – October 26

Sommelier Matt Skinner and chef Tobie Puttock will host this three-course sharing feast at Jamie’s Italian. Beginning at 6.30pm, it will feature South Australian produce in dishes such as a meat plank with mixed salumi, orecchiette with wild garlic pesto, roasted mulloway, and polenta cake with Kangaroo Island honey, alongside matching wines from Chaffey Bros, Zonte’s Footsteps and Mr Riggs. Vegan Festival – October 28-29

Vegan Festival will descend on Victoria Square once again this October, promising amazing food stalls, a roster of keynote speakers, cooking demonstrations, and activities for the whole family. Keep an eye on the event page for updates.

Urban Wine Walk – October 28

You could bar crawl or you can Urban Wine Walk. The Adelaide event will tour through Cantina Sociale, Five O’Clock Somewhere, Udaberri, NOLA, Bibliotheca Bar and Book Exchange, Electra House Hotel, Bar Torino, Hains & Co, Publishers Hotel, Mr Goodbar, Mother Vine, BRKLYN, The Gilbert St Hotel, 55ml and La Buvette Drinkery, and will feature wines from By Jingo, Shobbrook, Alpha Box & Dice, Delinquente and Vinteloper, among many others. Tickets are available for $49.50 plus booking fee, and can be purchased here.

Cin Cin Nebbiolo – November 12

More than 100 versions of Nebbiolo wine will be available for tasting during this event at Mt Lofty House from 1pm-5pm on Sunday, November 12. Chris Sarandis, of host Mercato, says guests can expect a cross-section of wines from northern Italy, plus releases from at least 20 Australian producers. Beer and Bubbles – November 18

Vardon Avenue will once again host a plethora of beer and sparkling wine producers, accompanied by food from East End restaurants setting up camp outside for the day. Details are scant at this stage, but keep an eye on the event page as more information is released.

French Market – November 24-25

French and French-themed gourmet goodies such as patisseries, cheeses, charcuterie and Beaujolais nouveau will be for sale alongside handicrafts, French language books, perfumes and more at the French Market in Unley’s Soldiers’ Memorial Garden. Among the new stallholders this year are Le Souk and Moorish Bites, selling French-Moroccan street food.  The family event, which takes place from 5pm-10pm on the Friday and 10am-10pm on the Saturday, will also feature live music, wine tasting and kids’ events.
