Beer and Bubbles – November 12

Vardon Avenue’s annual laneway party offers the chance to taste some of South Australia’s best sparkling wine, cider and craft beer, plus a range of street foods from East End eateries Nola, Mothervine, Soi 38 and East End Cellars. Bookings and more information here.

McLaren Vale meets Leigh Street – November 11

Enjoy award-winning wines from McLaren Vale in Adelaide’s CBD from 4.30pm to 7.30pm this Friday, with pop-up cellar doors on Leigh Street. Cost is $20 per person and include five tastings plus a Plumm wine glass. Tickets are available for purchase online and at the door.

Wine Tasting and Pizza – November 11

Join Pizzateca in McLaren Vale to celebrate the launch of Sew & Sew’s Sashiko wines series. There will be wine tastings by the glass and bottle, accompanied by the Mitiolo family’s renowned pizzas. Cost is $10 per person. The event runs from 6pm to late.

Family Day at Morphettville Racecourse – November 12

The Family Day at Morphettville Racecourse features a range of children’s workshops, a kids’ fashion event and stage performers. Several food trucks will be on site throughout the day, as well as Morphettville’s caterers, with a focus on healthy eating. Cost is $15 for adults, $7 for concessions (free for DVA cardholders and children).

Spring Burger Day – November 12

Barossa winery Kaesler will be serving up burgers, live music, sangria and wine at its Spring Burger Day from midday this Saturday. Bookings are not required.

United Nations Day Dinner – November 13

ABC presenter Sonya Feldhoff will MC this annual dinner which brings together members of the local community to celebrate the work of the United Nations. It will be held at the National Wine Centre from 6.30pm, with Amorelle Dempster, Australian Councillor on the International Slow Food Board, as guest speaker. Cost is $85 per person. Bookings here.

OzHarvest Food Waste Documentary – November 13

Help raise money for OzHarvest and enjoy the premiere screening of international chef Massimo Bottura’s documentary Theater of Life. Each ticket sold to see the documentary allows OzHarvest to provide 14 meals to those in need around Australia. The screening is being held at Wallis Piccadilly Cinemas in North Adelaide. Cost is $25 per person.

Champagne and Sparkling Tasting – November 28

Variety Vintage Wine Auction Luncheon – November 18

Guests at this event will be served a three-course lunch and have the opportunity to taste and purchase wines at the National Wine Centre in support of Variety. It includes a silent auction of private-cellar collectables and a main auction of 12 wine barrels donated by prominent South Australian winemakers. Adelaide French Market – November 18 and 19

Experience French-inspired gourmet food, wine, music, entertainment and cooking demonstrations at the Bonjour Adelaide French Market, presented by the Alliance Francaise d’Adelaide. The free event is on November 18, from 5pm to 10pm, and November 19, from 10am to 10pm, at the Unley Soldiers’ Memorial Gardens.

A Josper Oven Experience – November 24

This six-course degustation dinner at The Grill Library at the Stirling Hotel will be hosted by chef Brendan Boothroyd and offer an insight into the Josper Oven cooking method, with dishes paired with wines chosen by The Grill’s head sommelier. The event begins from 6.30pm. Cost is $120 per person. Tickets here.

Food at Bowerbird – November 25 to 27 

Bowerbird Design Market returns to the Wayville Pavilion at the Adelaide Showgrounds this month, offering an array of locally sourced food options alongside the many designer stalls. They include organic, handmade chocolate from Pana Chocolate, Sit Lo’s Vietnamese food, Four Seeds’ chocolate brownies and Dawn Patrol coffee.
