With dedicated, in-house patisserie chefs and a line-up of meticulously planned, themed High Teas, Stamford Hotels have earned their ‘Society’ affiliation by continually delighting guests with delectable favourites and afternoons to remember.
Stamford layers their High Tea offerings with ever popular, petite Lemon Meringue Tarts, Gateau Opera, Macarons, Raspberry and Nutella Gateau, and fluffy Scones with Cream made from scratch. These sweet treats are complemented by equally delicious savoury morsels.
One such specialty is Stamford’s own ‘Taste of Singapore’ Curry Puff, made with love from a secret family recipe that is a hit every time.
Worth a stand-alone mention is the Raspberry and Nutella Gateau, which starts with a fine raspberry mousse with a decadent hazelnut and Nutella filling. The petite dome is then coated in a white chocolate glaze and finishes with a delicate crunch from the thin biscuit base. This beautiful little masterpiece is then topped with a shaving of white chocolate garnish. Superb.
Angie McBride, representing the High Tea Society, described her chocolate high tea experience. “The Stamford Plaza Adelaide has partnered up with local chocolatier, Bracegirdle’s house of fine Chocolate. I’ve always been a fan of Bracegirdle’s. They produce amazing handmade chocolate products and desserts. Their hot chocolate is exceptional!”
When recounting her arrival Angie shared: “We were greeted with a Toblerone Cocktail. I love chocolate and cocktails, so it was a dream come true! It was very sweet and lethal with Kahlua, Frangelico, Baileys, chocolate sauce, cream, milk, mint and a glace cherry.”
Stamford’s themed High Teas have gained momentum with one of the most popular being ‘Wizardry High Tea’. This Harry Potter-inspired event invites guests to escape into a world of magic and mischief by serving up High Tea favourites as well as some creative additions that fit the theme perfectly…
The next High Tea event to be held on Sunday, November 11, is Great Gatsby themed. Guests are invited to frock-up in their finest 1920’s attire, drape on some pearls and escape back to the Gatsby era while enjoying some of the finest High Tea in Adelaide.
Fantastic Feasts High Tea, inspired of course by Fantastic Beasts, will allow guests to find their inner Wizard, Witch or Beast and step inside Newt’s briefcase for a truly spellbinding afternoon filled with sweet and savoury treats, live entertainment, and a giggle water cocktail.
Stamford is also hosting an Aladdin inspired High Tea where Disney die-hards can experience a magical afternoon where (sweet tooth) wishes come true. Guests will arrive on the royal magic carpet for this dazzling event, filled with lavish savoury and sweet treats and fun entertainment.
