Sample Australia’s best wines in one spot

Wine lovers have the chance to sample trophy and award-winning wines from the 2015 Royal Adelaide Wine Show as part of the Taste of the Best public tasting on Friday, October 2.

All of the 2700-plus wines entered in the Show will be available for tasting, including winners of the coveted Max Schubert AM Trophy for Most Outstanding Red Wine in Show, The George Fairbrother Memorial Trophy of Most Outstanding White Wine in Show and the Gramp, Hardy, Hill Smith Prize for Outstanding Wine of Provenance.

An initiative of the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of South Australia, the Royal Adelaide Wine Show is the most prestigious event of its kind in the country. More than 350 Australian wineries enter the Show each year.

Wine Show general manager Michelle Hocking said Taste of the Best provided a great opportunity for members of the public to sample the best wines from all around Australia in one location.

“Taste of the Best tickets are limited and many wine connoisseurs are regular participants at the Tasting, making the most of a once-a-year opportunity to try what’s new in the market and see how other wines are maturing,” Ms Hocking said.

Tickets to Taste of the Best cost $70 per person, including a tasting glass, catalogue of entries and cocktail food throughout the evening. It is on Friday October 2, from 6-8pm.
