Rom Com Con
Festivals

Rom Com Con is first-rate, marvellously comical and, by the end, surprisingly touching. It’s a top-notch piece served up by the loveable comic-duo Lizzy Mace and Juliette Burton.
With immense joie de vivre, intelligence and humour, the pair takes the audience through the chaotic world of dating, as they road-test scenarios and techniques used in romantic comedies in the search for “The One”. Their charming performances endear and entertain with honest geniality as they provide romance aplenty.

Although flippantly played, it’s often very funny and in many ways it becomes a cheerful rom-com in itself, benefitting from insightful writing, affable delivery and some beautifully judged moments that are hilarious.
Do romantic comedies hold the answer to finding true love? Could those scenarios happen in real life? Or are the movies just a con? With Mace and Burton exploring the subject, who cares? Because these two effervescent ladies don’t disappoint; they are delightful, sweet and damned funny.
Go see Rom Com Con – you won’t be disappointed.
Rom Com Con is being presented by Mace and Burton at the Bakehouse Theatre until March 16.
