This week’s poem is from Fleurieu Peninsula resident Moira Deslandes, a founding member of Willunga Playback Theatre, an aspiring poet, and a blogger at Letters to Hildegard.
A digital tattoo
The mother who got the call
The sister who held your hand
The friend that turned away
The stranger that turned toward
The surgeon with his scalpel
The radiologist with his MRI
Moira Deslandes has worked from the kitchen table to the cabinet table, as a grassroots community social worker, to a chief-of-staff to a state government minister. She spoke on “resignation” at TEDxAdelaide 2013.
Readers’ original and unpublished poems up to 30 lines can be emailed, with postal address, to firstname.lastname@example.org. A poetry book will be awarded to each contributor.
